As the willow tree’s leaves gently stirred behind them, his hand moved lightly down her arm until their fingers intertwined. She leaned into him with the softest smile touching her lips.
A part of Matt’s & Brenda’s wedding day portraits were convened in front of a grand old willow tree, and I couldn’t help but be reminded of a quote by Albert Schweitzer, “the willow which bends to the tempest, often escapes better than the oak which resists it.” The willow tree is one of the most flexible trees in nature and very little can break it. On a day spent making vows to stay together forever, I can’t think of a better symbol to be incorporated into a portrait.
Matt and Brenda, I hope, like the willow tree, that on sunny days you thrive and on stormy days you withstand all the elements.
Thank you soundslikeyellowphotography for asking me to help capture this lovely couple’s special day!
